JGP Classic and the Wounded Warrior Project

David's friend, Johnny, has been hosting his annual JGP Classic Golf Tournament every year since 2007. Basically a reason for all of their friends to get together from across the Southeast and have a great weekend of golf and fun.

This year, Johnny has decided to team up with the Wounded Warrior Project and host the tournament as an Open Invitational and to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. If you're interested in golf, I encourage you to join in the tournament. If you cannot play in the tourney, please review the sponsorship opportunities, including sponsoring a hole, or sponsoring a soldier to play in your place. Also, donations are welcome, any size - large or small.

For more information, check out the JGP Classic. And I leave you with the mission of the WWP, "...to honor and empower wounded warriors." What better cause, than to support those that have served our great country.

A Busy August already

It's hard to believe that we have been back from Colorado for 3 weeks and that August is already coming to an end. Here are a few tidbits from our last three weeks.

Uncle Scott babysat for Alden and Carson one afternoon so that I could run to the gym. It was the boy's first time being with anyone other than us, or their grandparents and it was Scotty's first time to babysit! All three boys did great!

Had to snap a photo of Alden and Carson with their Uncle Scotty before he left!

The trial-run of Cuzzy's Key West Seafood Shack was a few weeks ago and I captured a few images of the evening.

The Shack preparing for the crowd.

The patrons enjoying their dinner at the tables under the oak trees. This is REALLY going to be a nice setting once the weather cools down a bit.

Bob unveiling the ribs on his new super smoker.

Dad, Bob and Pete chatting about smoked pork :) Bob's famous ribs will be available on Fridays and Saturdays - check them out - you DON'T want to miss them!

Cuzzy's Number 1 Fans! They were so happy just watching the crowds and enjoying a bit of dinner too!

Cuzzy's Key West Seafood Shack is now open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 7pm and you can click on their website for a menu - its delicious!!! They are also doing tailgate pickups so check them out!!

During our nightly routine, I had to grab this photo of Daddy and his boys.

Check out Carson's face while reading Hippos Go Berserk!

After so much time, we have finally sold the pool table and we're getting the playroom ready for Carson and Alden.

Our friends the Drawdys, Clicks, Harvards and Fergusons gave us these Anywhere Chairs for the boys for their birthday. They are finally able to use them! Carson sitting in it for the first time :)

And Alden enjoying his too!

Can't wait to totally finish the playroom and have lots of playdates in it!

Munchkins

So, we went and saw Dr. Deeb, the pediatric endocrinologist, on Monday. Our pediatrician wanted us to check in with him since the boys are still little. We had a really good meeting with him and here is what we learned.

1) They are each about 28inches long and weigh right around 17 pounds

2) They seem very healthy

3) Yes, they are REALLY small (out of 1000 kids, 940 of them would be bigger than Alden and Carson)

4) He does not want us giving them half and half or any other fattening foods, because the issue is not in their weight They are proportionate to their height, which is good, but overall they are still small.

5) We will go back and in three months and check out how they are growing based on their weight AND height and go from there. He has told me to just continue feeding them as I am; and that their size is not indicative of nutrition, so that made me feel better :) Basically if I fed them more and more, they would just get wider, which is not good :)

So, we feel a lot better after talking to him and we'll just take the next step as it comes. Worse to Worse, they will probably not be NBA Basketball stars :)

Such a Slacker

I finally have gone back and had time to post - yes I know it has been a month!!! However, please scroll down and go back all the way through July 4th, as there are many new posts!! We have had a lot going on the past month and it's now all up on the blog.

Also, Carson has taken his first few steps!! He definitely still prefers to crawl but it's a "step in the right direction" :)

Bye Bye Jennings Fam and Denver :(

We had a great final day of our trip in Denver. We got to see LA and Mike's gym and Scotty even had a workout with the experts.

Although Mike had to work, the rest of the men went and spent several hours in REI on the River and we shopped around with the babies and had a great time getting to see Denver. We spent most of our time in the Highlands shopping area - it was great! Then, we all met and had a wonderful dinner together before we had to say goodbye to LA and Mike (and we won't see them until Christmas) - boo!!!

our last night at dinner in Denver :(

We turned in our car (A Ford Flex which looks kinda silly but was a perfect traveling car that week!)

What a wonderful trip it was. Our flights home were fine until we were delayed in Atlanta for an hour and a half and then circled Tallahassee for another hour because of the terrible storm Saturday night, but the boys were troopers. They are great travelers. The only issue we had the entire trip was that Alden had some Altitude sickness and he slept in our bed the entire trip (not normal for us). So, we are now back at home and getting the boys back on the correct time zone and their schedules. What a fun first vacation - looking forward to our next trip to the Smoky Mountains with the Weiss' soon :)
