A Wonderful Week Indeed

This week, we got the pleasure of having David's friend, Robert, stay with us - he came to visit all the way from Iceland! About to begin his residency in Norway, he wanted a vacation and Tallahassee was one of his stops! So, Alden and Carson got to meet their Uncle Rob for the first time. He is also our first houseguest since the babies arrived - he is braving it out in the cold rec room - but being from Iceland, he doesn't seem to mind the slightly chillier part of the house :)

My dad is going to start coming over once a week to visit with the boys at lunch time.

Here is Grandpa with the boys at lunch! What a fun time!

Last week, Mommy also finally finished putting together the Exersaucer and the Jumparoo, so the boys were able to take the inaugural spin in these toys - they held the boys so looks like Caroline put them together correctly to boot!
Maggie is keeping watch and wondering why SHE can't be in one of these fabulous contraptions!

Friday evening we celebrated Pops' birthday - we had delicious Beef Bourguignon made by Grandma Kathy for the occasion and Mimi and Grandpa came to celebrate too! Pops and the babies in their Chicago Bears wear....

On Saturday, we decided to have a BBQ with a bunch of the guys so they could visit with Robert - what a fun day! As cold as it was, they braved it and played a bit of bocce ball and croquet in the yard - a bit of football was watched during this cold day as well!
Morgan and Carson watching the game...

Aunt CLC came over for some baby time too!

Saturday ended when we realized that Maggie had gotten into Robert's bag and had eaten 4 (FOUR!!!!) chocolate bars - after a trip to the emergency vet, a full night of IV and charcoal to kill the toxins, Maggie is back home and back to her normal self - too bad she ate some delicious Icelandic chocolate that would have been a gift for someone else! Here are three of the 4 wrappers from the chocolate bars that we recovered - note that everything on the bar was written in Icelandic so it took some phone calls to ensure she had not consumed dark chocolate which is apparently much more toxic. My hand shows how big these bars were!

Monday, the boys had their 6 month checkup:
Alden weighs 12 lbs and 8 oz and is 24 inches long - he is in the lower third percentile but in the 10th percentile for his adjusted age.
Carson weighs 11 lbs and 14 oz and is also 24 inches long - he is also in the lower third percentile but in the fifth percentile for his adjusted age.
The Pediatrician was very happy with how they are doing and we have received the "OK" to start solid foods. So, Mommy is preparing to make some rice cereal and we're going to put the high chairs together and begin this weekend - how exciting!! Alden just chillin in his Bumbo seat before we headed to the pediatrician - check out the cute "sock loafers" - a gift from the Ausleys - thank you!

Carson enjoying some tummy time.

Robert, David and the boys - Uncle Robert got to share in bathtime during the last few days - they are getting the boys ready during this pic!

Robert right before he left our house - we enjoyed this visit -hopefully we'll go see him in Norway during the next few years.
