Plunging into new firsts!

As always, we have been busy this past week. We took our first trip to the beach on Saturday - but it was too rough and windy to even play in the sand :( On Sunday, we did, however, get to play with the boys in Pops' and Grandma Kathy's pool for the first time. Too cold for me, but they LOVED it!!

Carson is now pulling up to standing in his bed (and on anything stationary) and he is also now officially mobile. He started crawling last week. It's so cute, Alden kind of watches him thinking "Now, Where is HE going??" Hopefully, that will motivate him. Alden HATES his tummy still, so my guess is he may just walk instead of crawling. He is always wanting to stand and can actually "walk" pretty well when you hold his hands. We'll see. As of now, things are already so different even with just ONE moving :) I can't imagine two!!!

Until Tuesday, we have still been bathing the boys in the kitchen with their infant bathtub and using the kitchen island as our workspace. Well......seeing as we now have a mobile baby, we didn't even have the chance to think about it and BANG - Carson fell off of the 3.5 foot island onto the hardwood floor on Monday night. Luckily, he was 100% fine - he fell diaper first and he is such a tough little guy - scared David and I to DEATH though! Needless to say, we have moved to the bathroom. A little challenging since they are still a little unstable in sitting position, but we are getting there and learning the ropes as we go.

Finally, Carson and Alden have both still been taking 3 naps per day. This week, Carson seems ready to give one up. (He also hardly wants to be in his crib because all he wants to do is crawl around and pull up - even when he's tired - exhausting for him and Me!!) This makes for a lot less time for me during the day because Alden is still keeping his 3rd nap. Merged in to the feeding schedule that I posted last week, here is how naps are fitting in.

9-10am - they both nap
12-1pm - Alden naps
1:30 - 2:30 - Carson naps
3-4 - Alden naps.

So, basically, after their morning nap, I have NO time with them both asleep again!!! A little hard to get anything done. But I am thankful for my one-on-one time with each of them, and reminding myself that before t0o long, they will transition together to two naps (praying hard for this).

A few pics from the last week for you!

This is how I learned that Carson could pull up in his bed. I walked in after naptime and this is what I see :) Luckily the camera was close by so I snapped this :)

Alden, on the other side of the room - "What is HE doing???"

The boys watching Maggie outside of their room one day... Did I mention they love her???

Our little family at the Weiss' pool on Sunday

David put Carson in to "take the plunge"

He LOVED it!!
So then we decided to dunk them both in (up to their chests) - a blurry shot of Carson but check out Alden's face!!!

Our first bath in the big boy bathtub :)

  1. They are so cute! I wish it was even warm enough here to go outside. The high today was about 60.
